When we arrived in the West, we had only limited expectations as to which species of wildlife we would encounter.
 We had actually prepared ourselves for the possibility that the only animals we might find would be some cows.
However, on our first visit to a prairie dog town in South Dakota, we spotted a Burrowing Owl swoop down and land out in front of us!

The Burrowing Owl is very difficult to find, we certainly did not expect to come across one so soon.
It was then that I realized that the CAC was not only going to meet all of its goals, it was going to far exceed them.
