For me traveling to Sri Lanka
was an experience of a lifetime.
Anyone who knows me knows that I eat, sleep,
and live for elephants.
I have worked with these magnificent animals for over a
decade.
Yet seeing them in their natural surrounding was like seeing one for
the first time.
I still vividly remember getting goose bumps upon seeing and
smelling a very large musthy tusker in Kaudulla National park.
It was our first
visit to a park, and with the chance of seeing a tusker being very rare,
I felt
that if we saw nothing else the trip would still have been a success for me.
These memories will remain with me forever. I am grateful to have the chance
to experience this
and share it with such a great group of people that care so
much about such a magnificent species.
