Life never ceases to amaze me, and being a part of the CAC team has only served to reinforce this aspect of my personality. 
Through this program, I have seen sea lions come ashore where waters are dangerously rough and rocky. 
I have watched as a young grey whale breached in shallow waters near the coast.  However,
the most amazing part of this experience is that I have witnessed what can happen when we work to
protect these astounding creatures.  Elephant seals and sea otters were once hunted to near extinction—
I have seen both thriving in the wild.  It is so vital that we continue to protect these animals,
to begin to undo the past wrongs that we have committed.  We can only be awed by their
adaptability if they are left in the wild to admire.  To know that I am part of that difference fills me with happiness and pride.
