It is such a beneficial experience to see something familiar from a new and different point of view.  Seeing familiar birds in another stage of life so far away from your comfort zone is quite amazing.  The power of migration is very important to the health and richness of many environments other than our own.  Remember that the trials and tribulations of the bird you see outside of your window may affect an ecosystem hundreds, if not thousands of miles away.  In this way, our lovely feathered friends connect us all.
