Birding in Western New York

The choice of
where you would like to bird around Western New York will depend on
what you want to see. If you enjoy looking at waterfowl and shore
birds the Niagara River is a good place to travel to especially in
the winter. However, if you would much rather take a look up at the
canopy for some warblers perhaps you should try to head off to the
interior forests in the spring and fall to our wonderful parks
like Allegany and Sprague Brook. Also, as any birder will tell you
it’s nice to be able to have the best of both worlds. So if you want
a wide range of different bird types you might want
to head over Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge.
So whatever your
taste in birding, Western New York has it all and this section of
