If I've learned one thing while studying marine life this is
it.
The ocean truly is a whole new world which holds within it so much that has
yet to be discovered.
Improvements in scientific technology are allowing for
greater exploration into this watery world.
But at the same time, the
exponential growth of the human population is applying massive stress to the
marine ecosystem.
If people don't take responsibility for playing their role in
the conservation effort, marine life forms will die off before they are fully
understood or even discovered, regardless of the technology present.
Conservation also must become a part of people's lives because of the impact
that nature can have on them.
While observing marine mammals and their ecosystem, I gained
an entirely new outlook on life.
I realize now that the trivial problems life
puts before us are meaningless and that the time spent worrying about
them could
be much better spent enjoying the natural wonders that we too often ignore.
It
must become our duty to preserve and restore our ecosystems so that generation
after generation
can experience the true beauty of nature as I have recently
come to do.
