CAC Elephant Programs

The Canisius Ambassadors contribute content to the Asian Elephant programs at the Buffalo Zoological Gardens.  We do this by adding commentary while the zoo staff guide the elephants through exercises that demonstrate their natural behavior.  And we also engage children at the zoo with games that convey lessons about elephant natural history.  In both cases, we engage the public in conservation-focused themes.  People come to the zoo with a natural interest in the elephant.  We use that interest as a hook to draw them into conversations about how we can all better serve the needs of wildlife worldwide.

To date, 60,000 zoo patrons have attended our elephant programs at the Buffalo Zoo.
